Una delegaci\u00f3n de los habitantes del pueblo espa\u00f1ol \u00abCastrillo Mota de Jud\u00edos\u00bb (nombre original del pueblo que fue distorsionado desde \u00e9pocas inquisitoriales como \u00abMatajud\u00edos\u00bb), llegar\u00e1 a Israel en dos semanas para firmar un convenio de ciudades hermanas con Kfar Vradim (en hebreo: Aldea de las Rosas, cercana a la localidad norte\u00f1a de Nahar\u00eda).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El peque\u00f1o pueblo espa\u00f1ol fue noticia en los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n internacionales hace un a\u00f1o, cuando los aldeanos cambiaron su nombre \u00abMatajud\u00edos\u00bb por el nuevo nombre \u00abCastrillo Mota de Jud\u00edos\u00bb. En octubre el a\u00f1o 2015 el Embajador de Israel en Espa\u00f1a particip\u00f3 en la ceremonia oficial de cambio de nombre del antiguo pueblo, tras una votaci\u00f3n de los residentes locales que conjunto con su alcalde Lorenzo Rodr\u00edguez llam\u00f3 a respetar las antiguas ra\u00edces jud\u00edas de la localidad anterior a la expulsi\u00f3n de los jud\u00edos de Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n

El 19 de junio llegar\u00e1 a Israel la delegaci\u00f3n compuesta por siete aldeanos y el alcalde Rodr\u00edguez, en una visita por unos d\u00edas, que incluir\u00e1 un evento de firma del acuerdo de\u00a0hermanamiento con Kfar Vradim con la presencia del embajador espa\u00f1ol en Israel Fernando Carderera, el intendente Sivan Iejieli, as\u00ed como visitas a Masada, Jerusal\u00e9n, Nazaret, Acre, Tel Aviv y mucho m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00abCuando recibimos la solicitud de hermanamiento de la ciudad espa\u00f1ola y supimos de su emocionante historia no lo dudamos ni por un momento\u00bb, manifest\u00f3 el intendente de Kfar Vradim Sivan Yehieli.<\/p>\n

Documentos hist\u00f3ricos han demostrado que el nombre de \u00abCastrillo Matajud\u00edos\u00bb se aplic\u00f3 a la aldea desde 1627, y antes su nombre era \u00abMota de jud\u00edos\u00bb. El nombre fue dado al pueblo probablemente siguiendo las instrucciones de la expulsi\u00f3n de los jud\u00edos de Espa\u00f1a en 1492, mientras que los que se negaron a convertirse al catolicismo, se vieron obligados a salir de Espa\u00f1a o sufrir las torturas de la Inquisici\u00f3n. Algunos investigadores creen que el origen del nombre \u00abMatajud\u00edos\u00bb fue decidido por residentes jud\u00edos convertidos al cristianismo que quer\u00edan demostrar su lealtad a Espa\u00f1a. Hoy en d\u00eda, no viven jud\u00edos en el pueblo, pero muchos residentes tienen ra\u00edces jud\u00edas. El escudo de la ciudad incluye una estrella de David.<\/p>\n
