Cuando el Estado de Israel fue establecido en 1948, la poblaci\u00f3n era de alrededor 806.000 personas. 68 a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, en el D\u00eda de la Independencia (Iom Hatzmaut) 2016, la poblaci\u00f3n alcanza aproximadamente 8.522.000 personas, seg\u00fan los datos de la Oficina Central de Estad\u00edsticas.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La poblaci\u00f3n jud\u00eda es de aproximadamente 6.377.000 personas (74,8% de la poblaci\u00f3n), la poblaci\u00f3n \u00e1rabe es de aproximadamente 1.771.000 personas (20,8%) y el resto de la poblaci\u00f3n (cristianos no \u00e1rabes, otros credos y sin afiliaci\u00f3n religiosa) es de cerca de 374.000 personas (4,4%).<\/p>\n

Desde el D\u00eda de la Independencia pasado, la poblaci\u00f3n ha crecido aproximadamente en 182.000 personas, un aumento del 2,2%.<\/p>\n

Durante este per\u00edodo, Israel\u00a0le dio la bienvenida a aproximadamente 195.000 beb\u00e9s, y cerca de 47.000 personas fallecieron. El n\u00famero de olim (nuevos inmigrantes), que arribaron al pa\u00eds, fue de 36.000 personas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Alrededor del 75% de la poblaci\u00f3n jud\u00eda son \u00absabras\u00bb (nacidos en Israel) y m\u00e1s de la mitad son de segunda generaci\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds, en comparaci\u00f3n con s\u00f3lo el 35% en 1948.<\/p>\n

En 1948, s\u00f3lo hab\u00eda una ciudad en Israel con m\u00e1s de 100.000 habitantes: Tel Aviv-Jaffa. Hoy en d\u00eda, hay catorce ciudades con m\u00e1s de 100.000 habitantes. De ellas, ocho ciudades tienen m\u00e1s de 200.000 habitantes: Jerusal\u00e9n, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Rishon Lezion, Petah Tikva, Ashdod, Netania y Beersheba.<\/p>\n

De acuerdo con las proyecciones, se estima que la poblaci\u00f3n llegar\u00e1 a 11,3 millones personas en 2035.<\/p>\n
