Ayer explicamos que el Rab Yahacob Yehud\u00e1 Le\u00f3n naci\u00f3 en Portugal y vivi\u00f3 en Amsterdam. Mencionamos que entre sus muchas obras encontramos la vocalizaci\u00f3n, traducci\u00f3n al espa\u00f1ol e ilustraci\u00f3n de la Mishn\u00e1 (estos 2 \u00faltimos textos est\u00e1n perdidos) y la traducci\u00f3n al espa\u00f1ol, con comentarios del libro de Tehilim.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n mencionamos que su nombre tiene muchas variantes. \u00c9l se llamaba a s\u00ed mismo, \u00abLe\u00f3n Hebreo\u00bb, pero la mayor\u00eda de los autores de su \u00e9poca lo llamaban \u00abLe\u00f3n o Yehud\u00e1 Templo\u00bb. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 \u00abTemplo\u00bb? Dijimos que el Rab Le\u00f3n era tambi\u00e9n un artista, un gran dibujante y dise\u00f1ador, especializado en her\u00e1ldica, el dise\u00f1o de escudos de armas.<\/p>\n

El Rab Le\u00f3n utiliz\u00f3 sus talentos art\u00edsticos para ‘abodat haqodesh<\/em>(servir a haShem) y es as\u00ed como decidi\u00f3 construir una maqueta del Bet haMiqdash, el gran Templo de Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

Para construir su Templo el Rab Le\u00f3n\u00a0utiliz\u00f3\u00a0todas las fuentes jud\u00edas disponibles: las fuentes b\u00edblicas, las del tratado Talm\u00fadico Middot,\u00a0 los escritos de Flavio Josefo sobre el Bet haMiqdash , y la detallada descripci\u00f3n de\u00a0Maim\u00f3nides\u00a0en su Mishn\u00e9 Tor\u00e1.<\/p>\n

En el a\u00f1o 1641 el Rab Le\u00f3n termin\u00f3 su elaborada maqueta del Templo en una escala de 1:300. La maqueta media aproximadamente 1,30 x1,20 x 0,60.<\/p>\n

Acompa\u00f1ado a esta maqueta del Bet haMiqdash el Rab Le\u00f3n escribi\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n un libro explicativo, que gu\u00eda al lector, y a quienes visitaban su exposici\u00f3n, hacia el interior del Bet haMiqdash, describiendo cada uno de sus recintos, artefactos, utensilios, etc. Este libro se llam\u00f3: \u00abRetrato del Templo de Selomo\u00bb y seg\u00fan las propias palabras del Rab Le\u00f3n en su portada \u00abEn el qual brevemente se describe la hechura de la fabrica del Templo y de todos los vasos y Instrumentos con que en \u00e9l se administraba, cuyo modelo tiene el mismo Autor, como cada uno puede ver<\/em>\u00bb \u00a0(Middelburg, Holanda, 1642).<\/p>\n

Su libro fue publicado originalmente en en espa\u00f1ol, pero despert\u00f3 tanto inter\u00e9s, entre los Yehudim del mundo entero y a\u00fan entre gentiles,\u00a0 que pronto fue traducido al hebreo, al holand\u00e9s, al franc\u00e9s, al alem\u00e1n y al lat\u00edn.<\/p>\n

El Rab Le\u00f3n present\u00f3 la maqueta del Bet haMiqdash en su propia casa. Y esta exposici\u00f3n que hizo el Rab Le\u00f3n tuvo much\u00edsima difusi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

El a\u00f1o 1642 la comunidad jud\u00eda de Amsterdam tuvo una ilustre visita.\u00a0 Enriqueta Maria (1609-1666), la reina de Inglaterra, esposa de Carlos I, quien acompa\u00f1ada por el pr\u00edncipe Guillermo de Orange y su prometida Mar\u00eda Estuardo, lleg\u00f3 hasta la casa del Rab Le\u00f3n para visitar su maqueta del Bet haMiqdash.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan algunos historiadores\u00a0 en el a\u00f1o 1671 el Rab Le\u00f3n llev\u00f3 la maqueta del Bet haMiqdash a Londres.\u00a0 Tenemos la carta de recomendaci\u00f3n, en ingl\u00e9s,\u00a0escrita por Constantin Huygens (ver\u00a0aqu\u00ed<\/a>) dirigida al Rey Carlos II . \u00a0(Dicen tambi\u00e9n que en Londres el Rab Le\u00f3n dise\u00f1\u00f3 el primer escudo de armas usado por los masones ingleses). \u00a0La maqueta del Bet haMiqdash se mantuvo en Londres por cerca de 100 a\u00f1os Y fue exhibida por los descendientes del Rab Le\u00f3n, entre ellos Isaac Le\u00f3n y Moshe de Castro.<\/p>\n

Una de esas exhibiciones tuvo lugar en Londres en 1729. En el Diario de la Corte se puso un anuncio que dec\u00eda: \u00abPodr\u00e1 verse todos los d\u00edas en el Royal Exchange, el Modelo del Templo de Salom\u00f3n, con todos sus Vest\u00edbulos, Paredes, Verjas, C\u00e1maras y Vasos Santos, el gran Altar de los Sacrificios, el Mar de Bronce, el Lavadero y el Sancta Sanctorum con el Arca de la Alianza, el Sill\u00f3n de la Misericordia y los Querubines Dorados, el Altar de Incienso, los Candeleros, las Mesas, y las dos famosas columnas Jakim y Boaz\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n

El Rab Le\u00f3n \u00a0tambi\u00e9n\u00a0public\u00f3 el libro Tratado del Arca del Testamento<\/em> escrito en holand\u00e9s en 1647. En este libro describe en detalle\u00a0 y dibuja el Ar\u00f3n haBerit, el arca de la alianza.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n escribi\u00f3 en lat\u00edn Tratado de los Querubim,<\/em> escrito por el autor en lat\u00edn. Donde explica, describe e ilustra los querubines que estaban sobre el Arca de la alianza.<\/p>\n

Y finalmente escribi\u00f3 el libro Retrato del Tabern\u00e1culo de Moseh<\/em>, publicado en Amsterdam\u00a0en 1654.<\/p>\n
