Ein Gedi\u00a0es\u00a0un oasis impresionante en el desierto. En su pr\u00f3ximo viaje a Israel explora los muchos secretos, fuentes b\u00edblicas y la vida silvestre y, por supuesto, las vistas de este maravilloso lugar.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El Mar Muerto<\/a> zona es conocido por sus propiedades curativas, maravillas naturales, vistas impresionantes, historia fascinante, episodios b\u00edblicos, y su clima c\u00e1lido.\u00a0Todo esto lo convierten en un destino de invierno perfecto. Ein Gedi es un uno de los muchos lugares notables para ir de excursi\u00f3n para todo el d\u00eda o para detenerse para echar una visita r\u00e1pida en sus viajes por\u00a0la zona.<\/p>\n

Cuando el rey Sa\u00fal siente que su poder se le est\u00e1 escapando, \u00e9l persigui\u00f3 a David a trav\u00e9s de varias \u00e1reas de la Tierra de Israel. Por ello\u00a0David busc\u00f3 refugio en Ein Gedi (literalmente, la primavera de las peque\u00f1as cabras), que es un hermoso oasis en el desierto, con cascadas, cabras monteses (yaelim)<\/em> y preciosas\u00a0rocas\u00a0(sela <\/em>shafanei). David se escondi\u00f3 en una cueva, y Sa\u00fal pas\u00f3 por\u00a0esa misma cueva con el fin de hacer sus necesidades discretamente. Despu\u00e9s, David mostr\u00f3\u00a0a Sa\u00fal que le hab\u00eda cortado su abrigo, y que podr\u00eda haberlo matado f\u00e1cilmente si hubiera querido hacerlo. Sa\u00fal se da cuenta de que David era una persona notable y declara: \u00abM\u00e1s justo eres t\u00fa que yo, porque me has pagado con la bondad, mientras que yo os he pagado con el mal … Y ahora, he aqu\u00ed, yo s\u00e9 que va a reinar, y el reino de Israel ser\u00e1 establecido en tu mano\u00bb(Samuel 24: 18-21)<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, David se siente mal por haber cortado la\u00a0prenda del Rey y de acuerdo con los comentarios rab\u00ednicos, por haber cortado la parte de su ropa que ten\u00eda el tzitzit<\/em> (flecos), lo que impidi\u00f3 a Sa\u00fal de la observaci\u00f3n de la mitzv\u00e1<\/em> (mandamiento b\u00edblico). Los rabinos nos dicen que a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, cuando David estaba muri\u00e9ndose en Jerusalem\u00a0ninguna prenda pod\u00eda mantenerlo caliente. En los tiempos modernos, las cabras estaban en riesgo de extinci\u00f3n en Israel, y se decidi\u00f3 dejar a un lado Ein Gedi como reserva natural para proteger la vida silvestre. Como resultado, la adorable cabra mont\u00e9s se convirti\u00f3 en el s\u00edmbolo de la Naturaleza de Israel y la Autoridad de Parques.<\/p>\n

Si visitas Ein Gedi, aseg\u00farate de parar en la antigua <\/a>sinagoga. Su hermosa\u00a0mosaico del siglo V-VI tiene inscripciones incre\u00edbles. Sorprendentemente, como se puede ver en muchos sitios en todo Israel, los nombres de los donantes todav\u00eda est\u00e1n escritos en el mosaico! \u00bfCu\u00e1l es el secreto? Los investigadores generalmente est\u00e1n de acuerdo que es el m\u00e9todo para producir el perfume del arbusto que creci\u00f3 en la zona. Este perfume \/ aceite, llamado Shemen Afarsimon<\/em> (aceite de caqui), era tan valioso como el oro. Adem\u00e1s de su incre\u00edble aroma, era especial porque el aceite\u00a0hab\u00eda sido utilizado por el profeta Samuel para ungir al rey Sa\u00fal, y la resina de este \u00e1rbol se utilizaba para uno de los ingredientes llamados Tzri<\/em> (b\u00e1lsamo) en el Ketoret<\/em> (incienso en el Santo Templo en Jerusalem). Seg\u00fan la tradici\u00f3n jud\u00eda, el arbusto creci\u00f3 s\u00f3lo en la Tierra de Israel, siempre y cuando el templo estaba en Jerusalem. En esos a\u00f1os, otros reyes trataron de hacer crecer el arbusto en sus pa\u00edses, pero no tuvieron \u00e9xito. Cleopatra de Egipto siempre ha querido tomar el control de esta \u00e1rea debido a que el aceite de caqui y los muchos otros recursos eran muy valiosos.<\/p>\n

Un tarro de aceite que parece ser este mismo aceite fue descubierto por el arque\u00f3logo No\u00e1jida Vendyl Jones (quien falleci\u00f3 el 27 de diciembre de 2010) en 1988.<\/p>\n
