Por primera vez,\u00a0el\u00a0D\u00eda m\u00e1s sagrado del calendario\u00a0Jud\u00edo, Yom Kipur se ha reconocido en las Naciones Unidas como un d\u00eda de fiesta oficial.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Una campa\u00f1a lanzada por Israel en 2014 para tener como feriado\u00a0el d\u00eda de Yom Kippur, el D\u00eda de la Expiaci\u00f3n<\/a>, se\u00a0aprob\u00f3\u00a0formalmente como un feriado oficial por las Naciones Unidas. El jueves, la ONU anunci\u00f3 su decisi\u00f3n de reconocer el d\u00eda m\u00e1s sagrado del calendario jud\u00edo.<\/p>\n

Esto significa, en un sentido pr\u00e1ctico, que a partir de 2016, no habr\u00e1 reuniones oficiales en la sede de la ONU durante\u00a0Yom Kippur, y a los empleados jud\u00edos se le permitir\u00e1 tomarse el d\u00eda libre, sin perder un d\u00eda de vacaciones.<\/p>\n

La decisi\u00f3n es una buena noticia para los miembros de la delegaci\u00f3n israel\u00ed de la ONU.<\/p>\n

Diez d\u00edas de fiesta religiosas, incluyendo la observancia cristiana de la Navidad y el Viernes Santo, as\u00ed como las festividades musulmanas de Eid al-Fitr y Eid al-Adha, ya hab\u00edan sido reconocidas por el organismo mundial.<\/p>\n
