Israel’s digital-fundraising landscape reached new heights in 2025, with Charidy reporting a sharp rise in giving and a landmark campaign by a Chabad yeshiva in Safed that set a national crowdfunding record.
The platform said Israelis contributed 432 million shekels over the year, reflecting substantial growth despite security tensions and economic uncertainty.
According to year-end data released this week, donations through Charidy in Israel increased by 37% compared with 2024, when campaigns drew 365 million shekels.
The company attributed part of that expansion to more sophisticated fundraising strategies adopted by nonprofit organizations, alongside broader adoption of large-scale digital appeals.
One of the most notable efforts came from Chabad’s Safed yeshiva, which mounted a campaign that approached 100 million shekels—one of the highest sums ever raised by a single crowdfunding effort in Israel.
The platform also highlighted a strong showing from well-established medical aid groups. Ezer Mizion recorded the largest number of individual contributors to a single campaign, while organizations such as Larger Than Life and Friends of Magen David Adom led other major drives.
The company’s global numbers reflected similar momentum. Total contributions collected worldwide climbed from $606 million in 2024 to $734 million in 2025, an increase of more than 21%.
Charidy said it facilitated 3,931 active campaigns across all markets, slightly higher than the 3,739 recorded the previous year.
A growing share of activity came from high-value donors. The platform reported that the largest single gift processed in 2025 reached 7.2 million shekels, marking what Charidy described as a notable rise in “major gifts” transacted through digital platforms.
Charidy CEO Shay Chervinsky told Ynet the shift in donor behavior reflected a new stage for Israeli philanthropy.
“The 2025 data proves that Israeli philanthropy has entered a professional, mature phase,” he said, adding that the public continued to give generously during difficult months but did so “in a more precise way.” He said the company’s technological tools and nonprofits’ improved use of data contributed to “trust-based success stories” in Israel and in Charidy’s global operations.
The company said the combined figures point to a continued acceleration in digital fundraising, even as nonprofits navigate a complex security and economic environment.
