Rabbi Steven Burg, CEO of AISH, emphasized the deeper significance of the event coming just days after Israel’s Valentine’s Day, better known as “Tu B’Av” on the Jewish calendar.
Celebrity kosher chef Jamie Geller will be hosting what could be the biggest Jewish speed dating event ever, with over 6,500 singles expected to participate in the virtual matchmaking marathon next week.
CoronaCrush, AISH, and Partners in Torah are joining forces with over 30 Jewish organizations globally to host the free virtual event on Tuesday.
Last year drew 6,000 participants and resulted in numerous lasting relationships and marriages, according to organizers.
Success stories include Daniel and Chaya from Arizona, who amazingly discovered they had been living in the same building for years before meeting through the virtual platform.
“When you bring together mission-driven partners who care about Jewish connection, magic happens,” Ian Mark, CEO of CoronaCrush, told Ynetnews. “We’re building something real, and people can feel it.”
What started as a way to help Jewish singles meet during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, CoronaCrush has grown into a movement of over 30,000 members.
Mark, who made aliyah nine years ago, has hosted 150+ speed dating events with an average of 500 participants each.
Rabbi Steven Burg, CEO of AISH, emphasized the deeper significance of the event coming just days after Israel’s Valentine’s Day, better known as “Tu B’Av” on the Jewish calendar.
“Jewish relationships don’t just create personal happiness, they build continuity and ensure a Jewish future,” Burg said.
“Each new couple represents not just a union of two individuals, but a connection to Jewish tradition that stretches back thousands of years and will help build our future as individuals and a community.”
Partners in Torah, the third organizing partner, typically facilitates one-on-one Jewish learning relationships that have built thousands of connections across the Jewish world.
For this event, they’re offering a three-week “Date Smarter” program that teaches relationship skills through Jewish wisdom, with participants receiving priority matching at the speed dating event.
This year’s host will be Geller who dropped news over Instagram on Sunday where she gave dating advice to her 2 million followers.
She is best known for building a media empire around kosher cooking and Jewish lifestyle content. Called “The Kosher Rachael Ray” by the Miami Herald, Geller’s published eight cookbooks and created videos with over 1 billion views.
Her partnership with AISH in 2021 created what’s now called the most-watched Jewish food network in the world.
