Durante uma recente visita do Presidente da Lib\u00e9ria, George Weah, a Jerusal\u00e9m, ele comunicou ao governo de Benjamin Netanyahu a inten\u00e7\u00e3o de abrir uma embaixada de seu pa\u00eds em Israel.<\/p>\n

George Weah esteve em Israel na primeira semana deste m\u00eas a frente de uma delega\u00e7\u00e3o composta pelos ministros liberianos das rela\u00e7\u00f5es exteriores, defesa, transporte, com\u00e9rcio e ind\u00fastria. Ele foi recebido pelo primeiro-ministro Benjamin Netanyahu que agradeceu ao apoio da Lib\u00e9ria no cen\u00e1rio internacional.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Lib\u00e9ria \u00e9 um dos grandes amigos de Israel no continente africano, colocando-se ao nosso lado em vota\u00e7\u00f5es diante dos diversos \u00f3rg\u00e3os internacionais\u201d, diz um comunicado emitido por Jerusal\u00e9m.<\/p>\n

De acordo com uma nota emitida pelo gabinete do premi\u00ea israelense, George Weah e Benjamin Netanyahu trataram do estreitamento dos la\u00e7os entre Monr\u00f3via e Jerusal\u00e9m. Principalmente, nas \u00e1reas da inova\u00e7\u00e3o, agricultura, energia e seguran\u00e7a h\u00eddrica.<\/p>\n

Ainda em Jerusal\u00e9m, a delega\u00e7\u00e3o liberiana se reuniu com o Ministro das Rela\u00e7\u00f5es Exteriores de Israel, Eli Cohen. Ele celebrou a inten\u00e7\u00e3o da Lib\u00e9ria de abrir uma embaixada em Israel e disse que a manobra contribuir\u00e1 com uma aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o ainda maior entre os pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n

A Lib\u00e9ria \u00e9 uma na\u00e7\u00e3o de maioria crist\u00e3 localizado na regi\u00e3o norte do continente africano. \u00a0O pa\u00eds faz fronteiras com a Serra Leoa, Guin\u00e9 e Costa do Marfim.<\/p>\n
