Em visita oficial a Israel o Presidente da C\u00e2mara dos Representantes dos Estados Unidos, Kevin McCarthy foi recebido nesta segunda-feira (1), em Jerusal\u00e9m, pelo presidente Isaac Herzog e pelo primeiro-ministro Benjamin Netanyahu.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 frente de uma delega\u00e7\u00e3o bipartid\u00e1ria composta por 17 parlamentares Kevin McCarthy chegou neste domingo a Israel e ap\u00f3s visitar o Muro das Lamenta\u00e7\u00f5es, em Jerusal\u00e9m, ele e sua delega\u00e7\u00e3o participaram no parlamento israelense de um jantar oferecido pelo Presidente do Knesset, Amir Ohana.<\/p>\n

Ao dar as boas-vindas a Kevin McCarthy o Presidente de Israel, Isaac Herzog, disse ser muito importante para Jerusal\u00e9m a visita de uma delega\u00e7\u00e3o composta por parlamentares Republicanos e Democratas.<\/p>\n

\u201cHoje, somos um pa\u00eds incr\u00edvel e pr\u00f3spero que tem em seu DNA o la\u00e7o com os Estados Unidos, nosso aliado mais pr\u00f3ximo\u201d, acrescentou o presidente israelense.<\/p>\n

Considerado um grande apoiador de Israel o Presidente da C\u00e2mara dos Estados Unidos respondeu dizendo que n\u00e3o h\u00e1 nada alian\u00e7a mais importante para Washington do que aquela com Jerusal\u00e9m.<\/p>\n

Em seu breve discurso, McCarthy celebrou ainda os Acordos de Abr\u00e3o, o progresso e a tecnologia israelense. Ele disse ainda que n\u00e3o poderia deixar de visitar Jerusal\u00e9m para celebrar os 75 anos de independ\u00eancia de Israel.<\/p>\n

O encontro entre McCarthy e Netanyahu por sua vez aconteceu no hotel King David, em Jerusal\u00e9m. Houve uma reuni\u00e3o privada entre os dois que foi seguida de um encontro entre os membros da delega\u00e7\u00e3o parlamentar americana e o primeiro-ministro israelense.<\/p>\n

Alfinetando a Casa Branca o republicano Kevin McCarthy disse que o \u201cmundo \u00e9 um lugar melhor quando os la\u00e7os entre os Estados Unidos e Israel s\u00e3o mantidos fortes\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cO mundo \u00e9 mais seguro\u201d, disse McCarthy.<\/p>\n

Desde que o atual governo israelense tomou posse Washington afastou-se um pouco de Jerusal\u00e9m e Netanyahu sequer recebeu um convite para visitar os Estados Unidos e a Casa Branca. Algo, incomum nas rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre os l\u00edderes dos Estados Unidos e Israel.<\/p>\n

Questionada sobre as chances de que uma visita do Primeiro-ministro de Israel aos Estados Unidos acontece em breve, Kevin McCarthy disse que se o convite n\u00e3o partir da Casa Branca ele partir\u00e1 da C\u00e2mara dos Representantes.<\/p>\n

Segundo na linha de sucess\u00e3o da Presid\u00eancia dos Estados Unidos, Kevin McCarthy disse, ainda sobre este t\u00f3pico, que durante os \u00faltimos meses Joe Biden tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o o procurou para conversar. Por isso, segundo ele, Benjamin Netanyahu estaria \u201cem boa companhia\u201d ao ser negligenciado pela Casa Branca.<\/p>\n
