Negocia\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e3o acontecendo entre Jerusal\u00e9m e Ancara para que o Presidente do Estado de Israel, Isaac Herzog, viaje \u00e0 Turquia e seja recebido pelo presidente Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Se a viagem se confirmar, Herzog ser\u00e1 o primeiro presidente israelense a visitar a Turquia desde Shimon Peres em 2007.<\/p>\n

Durante uma coletiva de imprensa esta semana o presidente turco disse esperar reunir-se com Herzog em breve. Os dois j\u00e1 conversaram ao telefone ao menos em tr\u00eas ocasi\u00f5es\u00a0 desde que este \u00faltimo assumiu o cargo de Presidente do Estado de Israel no ano passado .<\/p>\n

Vista por muitos na regi\u00e3o como uma amea\u00e7a, a Turquia do islamista Erdogan \u00e9 advers\u00e1ria da alian\u00e7a Israel, Gr\u00e9cia e Chipre.<\/p>\n

Desde 2008, as rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre Jerusal\u00e9m e Ancara v\u00eam se deteriorando e estas chegaram a um patamar insustent\u00e1vel em 2010. Na ocasi\u00e3o, um grupo de \u201cdefensores dos direitos humanos\u201d armados tentou furar por mar, o bloqueio israelense \u00e0 Faixa de Gaza, territ\u00f3rio controlado pela organiza\u00e7\u00e3o terrorista Hamas. Isto, sob a alega\u00e7\u00e3o de estar levando ajuda humanit\u00e1ria \u00e0 Gaza.<\/p>\n

Ap\u00f3s tentar contornar a situa\u00e7\u00e3o e oferecer a possibilidade de que o navio atracasse no porto de Ashdod e a ajuda humanit\u00e1ria fosse transportada para Gaza por terra, em caminh\u00f5es, a marinha israelense n\u00e3o teve outra op\u00e7\u00e3o sen\u00e3o interceptar o navio. Ao chegarem a embarca\u00e7\u00e3o, os soldados foram recebidos com muita viol\u00eancia . Foram apreendidas armas e at\u00e9 granadas.<\/p>\n

Quando divulgado o balan\u00e7o da \u201cajuda humanit\u00e1ria\u201d transportada pelo grupo, que adotou o nome de \u201cFlotilha da Liberdade\u201d, foram encontrados medicamentos vencidos, materiais estragados e itens de segunda m\u00e3o sem qualquer valor material ou utilidade. Tudo uma farsa, na tentativa de manchar a imagem do Estado de Israel perante a comunidade internacional.<\/p>\n

O Hamas, aliado de Erdogan, recusou a carga e se negou a receber o material.<\/p>\n

As rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre Israel e a Turquia melhoraram com o passar dos anos e em 2016 os pa\u00edses voltaram a trocar embaixadores. Mas, dois anos depois, Ancara expulsou o embaixador israelense alegando novas diverg\u00eancias sobre a situa\u00e7\u00e3o dos palestinos na Faixa de Gaza. Desde ent\u00e3o, Israel n\u00e3o tem um embaixador na Turquia e vice-versa.<\/p>\n

A vontade de Erdogan de aproximar-se de Israel pode ser explicada pela crise econ\u00f4mica pela qual passa a Turquia. A lira turca vem perdendo seu valor \u00e0 \u00edndices hist\u00f3ricos, a popularidade de Erdogan vem caindo e uma aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o do ocidente n\u00e3o poderia vir em um momento melhor para o \u201cditador otomano\u201d.<\/p>\n
