O Ministro da Defesa de Israel, Benny Gantz, e o Presidente da Autoridade Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, se reuniram em Ramallah na noite do \u00faltimo domingo (29).<\/p>\n

Esta foi a primeira reuni\u00e3o formal em mais de uma d\u00e9cada entre altos funcion\u00e1rios dos governos de Israel e da Autoridade Palestina. Em 2010, da \u00faltima vez que algo parecido aconteceu, o ent\u00e3o premier israelense Benjamin Netanyahu tamb\u00e9m foi recebido por Mahmoud Abbas, que ocupa o mesmo cargo desde 2005<\/a>.<\/p>\n

De acordo com um comunicado emitido pela assessoria do ministro israelense, Gantz e Abbas discutiram assuntos ligados a seguran\u00e7a, diplomacia, economia e Assuntos Civis.<\/p>\n

Atrav\u00e9s de um tweet, Gantz disse haver informado a Mahmoud Abbas que \u201cIsrael est\u00e1 pronto a adotar uma s\u00e9rie de medidas para fortalecer a economia da Autoridade Palestina\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cN\u00f3s tamb\u00e9m falamos sobre a coordena\u00e7\u00e3o da seguran\u00e7a e situa\u00e7\u00e3o econ\u00f4mica na Cisjord\u00e2nia e na Faixa de Gaza. Concordamos em dar continuidade \u00e0s conversas referentes aos temas levantados durante a reuni\u00e3o\u201d, disse Gantz.<\/p>\n

No atual cen\u00e1rio internacional o revigoramento da Autoridade Palestina \u00e9 visto com bons olhos diante da amea\u00e7a do fortalecimento do Hamas, grupo terrorista que deste 2007 controla a Faixa de Gaza.<\/p>\n

Inimigo do Fatah de Mahmoud Abbas o Hamas vem conquistando mais espa\u00e7o e apoiadores a cada dia, mesmo em ambientes antes controlados pela Autoridade Palestina. Hoje, as famosas bandeiras verdes do Hamas podem ser vistas \u00e0 luz do dia em Ramallah por exemplo, algo impens\u00e1vel h\u00e1 alguns anos.<\/p>\n

A perda de apoio popular da Autoridade Palestina pode ser explicado por alguns fatores, entre eles a crise econ\u00f4mica, a corrup\u00e7\u00e3o e a hipocrisia de seus l\u00edderes.<\/p>\n

A reuni\u00e3o entre Mahmoud Abbas e Benny Gantz aconteceu com o consentimento do Primeiro-ministro de Israel, Naftali Bennett, que regressou h\u00e1 pouco de uma visita oficial a Washington. Apesar disso, pessoas pr\u00f3ximas ao premier israelense disseram aos ve\u00edculos de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o locais que n\u00e3o h\u00e1 em curso, negocia\u00e7\u00f5es acerca de um processo de paz.<\/p>\n

\u201cA reuni\u00e3o entre Gantz e Abbas foi autorizada previamente pelo Primeiro-ministro. Esta foi uma reuni\u00e3o sobre temas rotineiramente tratados entre o Minist\u00e9rio da Defesa e a Autoridade Palestina. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 um processo diplom\u00e1tico em curso e n\u00e3o haver\u00e1\u201d, disse a fonte ligada a Bennett.<\/p>\n

L\u00edder do partido de direita \u201cYemina\u201d, Naftali Bennett se op\u00f5e a cria\u00e7\u00e3o do Estado da Palestina por acreditar na unicidade b\u00edblica da Terra de Israel e refutar sua divisibilidade.<\/p>\n
