Nebius is set to buy Israeli startup Tavily as part of a move to bring live web access directly into its artificial intelligence cloud platform, the two companies announced Tuesday.
The price was not made public. Israeli media estimates placed the deal at roughly $275 million, with the figure potentially rising to $400 million if certain performance benchmarks are reached.
Listed on Nasdaq with a market value above $23 billion, Nebius focuses on cloud infrastructure built specifically for AI workloads. By bringing Tavily into the company, Nebius said customers will be able to build AI agents that can retrieve up-to-date information from the internet, verify facts independently, and perform complex online tasks without a patchwork of separate services.
Tavily, founded in 2024, develops agentic search tools that enable AI systems to access fresh online data in real time rather than relying solely on preloaded information.
These capabilities are already used in fields such as software engineering, data analytics, and financial trading. Tavily’s tools are downloaded millions of times each month and used by developers worldwide. Among its clients are IBM and other major AI companies.
Nebius said adding Tavily’s technology will allow it to offer a more unified environment where computing power and up-to-date web data are available within the same system, supporting the next generation of autonomous AI applications.
