ACT NOW: Tell This California Public School to Stand Firm Against Antisemitism

Jewish students at —a public school—are under attack, and now their most basic protection is being threatened.

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and their allies are pushing GMU’s student government to disavow the IHRA definition of antisemitism—the globally recognized standard adopted by the state of Virginia and by GMU itself in response to rising antisemitism on campus.

This is not just a policy debate. It’s a blatant attempt to strip Jewish students of their right to call out hate.

The IHRA definition is a vital tool that names and defines the antisemitism these students face daily—from verbal abuse and pro-Hamas encampments to physical assaults and explicit calls for violence.

GMU has already seen shocking incidents: “Death to Jews” signs, terrorist flags in student homes, and even a plot to attack the Israeli consulate. SJP was suspended for its role in this toxicity but was reinstated this fall—and immediately posted a threatening video targeting Jewish voices.

Now they want to erase the very definition that holds them accountable.

The silence from university leadership would be deafening. GMU must not bow to pressure from extremist groups masquerading as activists. Jewish students deserve to feel safe, heard, and protected. T
