ACT NOW: Demand Jewish Caucus Leader Resign for Accusing Israel of ‘Genocide’

On January 11, California State Senator Scott Wiener accused Israel of committing genocide while serving as Co-Chair of the Legislative Jewish Caucus.

At a public forum just days earlier, Wiener refused to say whether Israel was guilty of genocide. After being booed by the crowd, he reversed himself in a video, declaring that Israel is trying to “destroy Gaza” and that this qualifies as genocide.

He cited unnamed Israeli officials and repeated Hamas propaganda with no evidence, no context, and no mention of the October 7 massacre that started this war.

This wasn’t a misstep. It was a calculated political decision — and it has consequences.

Wiener’s statement dehumanizes the Jewish state and reduces Israeli lives to applause lines.

While he spreads baseless accusations against the only democracy in the Middle East, he stays silent as the Iranian regime guns down protesters, imports foreign militias, and murders children. That’s actual genocide — and he has nothing to say.

This is part of a disturbing pattern. In 2025, Wiener co-authored a resolution that equated Hamas with Israel, pretending a terror group and a sovereign state share equal blame.

He’s marginalized pro-Israel voices in the Jewish Caucus and turned it into a platform for radical politics instead of true representation.

We cannot be silent while a so-called Jewish leader spreads Hamas lies and defames the Jewish state from a position of power.
